this is NOT oppression of innocents, here...and plenty of people don't seem to think this was a waste of space.

I get tired of over scrupulosity. If mocking idiocy, cynical exploitation, hypocrisy, showboating and all that is naughty-naughty, then we lose a way to identify what's wrong and communicate it!!! Group norms, folks. Peer pressure is very much about enforcing group norms...so if you want to reinforce norms of integrity, humility, all that good stuff, we better be able to talk about what it ISN'T!! Humor is a powerful way to do that.
Unless, of course, we'd like to scrupulously fire all comedians, too.

by the way, a lot of women here object to using the word bitch, c*** and douchebag, but there is very little outcry. And what outcry there is is usually ignored. Now THERE's an example of entrenched bigotry that demeans and humiliates innocents
