The KKK used to make a regular practice of killing people of color. The police were useless because most times the police were wearing the hoods and robes. So the would be victims armed themselves and defended their families.

Its those families whose guns I'm defending. Seeing as the killer is still at large and police efficacy is debatable people should be allowed to defend themselves.
