They put a bullet-proof vest on him.
I don't think anything else quite illustrates how racist America is. You can be sure they didn't fear another white man shooting him. No, the police was showing their belief in the inherent violence of black people.
Black victims of crimes are scrutinized and declared "no angels" while white terrorists are protected and declared soft-spoken. It is disgusting, and we white people need to do something about it.
