(10,998 posts)Trying to talk sense into people who believe violence (racism is violence) is the answer is like trying to reason with a hungry defensive scorpion. It will always rear up and try to sting.
The defensive arrogance of violence defenders know no boundaries or manners. They have NO ability to REASON. It's like trying to reason with a rabid fox.
How are we going to get reasoning through to those who are not only unwilling to learn but who are arrogantly defensive about what they believe? That's the 64 million dollar question. Try reasoning with a child who wants that piece of candy now right before dinner. It's impossible. This is the reasoning capacity of people stuck in insane (racist) beliefs. Just like the child who wants the candy before dinner, we say no as the parent. It's time, as a society we just start telling them NO, because that is the only thing the can understand. No you can't pick on that darker skinned child at the pool, no you can't shoot that teenage boy in the street, no you can't have as many guns as you want, no you can't massacre people in a church, and no you are not allowed to think in hateful ways. We have to tell them NO, because that is all they are able to comprehend.
