(1,591 posts)Again and again and again anti firearm people get it wrong, just like your auto insurance fantasy ............ responsible people have automobile insurance,.... morons, criminals and idiots do not, just like your firearm insurance idea, people keep believing that MORE LAWS will make criminals and the insane,...... follow them.
"If insurance was mandatory he would not have been able to have a gun" Jesus Christ........... driving without insurance and drunk driving are not allowed so thank god the law prevents lawbreakers from breaking the law.. right ?
The answer to preventing as much violence as possible lies more in the hands of actual help for the mentally unstable - not just insurance payment reform via the ACA, it lies with jobs and a secure income not MORE lopsided unfair foreign trade policy. The mentally unstable are left to drift thru society with non-professional supervision while on prescription drugs, LARGE numbers of people are skating the edge of mental collapse with a constant looming financial disaster pushing them closer to the edge every day. People have to understand that knee jerk irrational "want" laws will have NO EFFECT on people who ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE LAW in the first place. and ... when there are 300 million people living in a country all it takes is 1/10 of 1% of the population to result in 300,000 incidents. You cant legislate Utopia, there will always be irrational violence, work for the best solution, not a "feel good" but irrelevant fantasy.
Look at every mass shooting, THEY ALL HAVE MENTAL ISSUES that were well known about but went minimally treated and half assed ignored. Yet anti firearm people put blinders on every single time and keep blaming an object not the operator.
agenda driven firearm ignorance offers wonderful rant opportunities, and a real feeling of self importance, but it NEVER addresses the actual roots of the problem, it NEVER EVER changes a damn thing........... at least until the next time a mental unstable person rampages again, ....then "If we could pass one more law, it would have prevented this" is the warm fuzzy blanket people run too.
