It well may have been. But all we know right now was that Roof wanted to stir up fear and hatred by killing black people. Was the choice of church intentional? Very likely. Was the choice of individual targets intentional? Totally different question. We don't know that he was targeting a State Senator for assassination versus targeting whatever pastor and parishioners he could get to versus targeting whoever happened to be inside. Whether or not it eventually proves to be true, we don't need to start with unfounded allegations.
