(18,998 posts)75. Well part of the reason I voted for Obama was because he was black.
And I am white and believed him when he promised to stop the wars, close Gitmo and all the things he promised in his campaign because I thought a black person would be likely to do it.
That proved to be an overly optimistic view of race as a predictor of policy.
And welcome to DU.
