Thanks to government regulation, I just got a 50% boost in internet speed [View all]

I noticed just now that a download seemed unusually fast. Wondering if my local cable provider had goofed and switched me to a slightly pricier tier, I checked the dedicated forum for my provider.

Long story short, at the moment I'd have to say I'm now benefiting from "the 15Mbps tier is going to 25 so that they can be seen as "Broadband" by the FCC.", to quote from the thread I'm linking to below.

I was only hazily aware that the FCC was doing some things about standards. To actually benefit is nice.
