HUD must go [View all]

I'm usually a fan of president Obama and our government agencies. However, one agency has such enormous problems that it should be shut down completely and that is Housing and Urban Development or HUD. I'm usually an Obama fan but I'm very upset with him over supporting HUD on this.

HUD has a proposal to force section 8 housing into all neighborhoods including the most upscale neighborhoods. This is not cost effective and makes no sense. HUD is overstepping its authority by overruling local zoning laws. It's a terrible idea. The HUD proposal will cost untold billions of dollars which could be put to much better uses in other departments such as science, schools, or building infrastructure.

I'm not against affordable housing, but local communities and not HUD should do it. HUD should be closed down and the government HUD workers should have the option to transfer to other departments.

Rather than this HUD nonsense, how about we have an additional millionaire tax of 10%? That's a simpler and much better and fairer way to spread the wealth.

HUD must go! I usually take the democrat position on issues, but I'm republican on this one issue.
