Many sites redirect you to new pages, but do it silently. Firefox does that too, unless you click on the setup box that tells Firefox to warn you before redirecting. Then it asks your permission to redirect you.

It is in your settings. Firefox always asks me if I want to go to the new page that usually loads automatically because I told it to ask me.

It happens to me, usually when I log on to DU, before it takes me to my forum. Or when I post a reply to someone, before it reloads the page with the topic I posted on. If I don't accept those on DU, the pages I want don't load, so on DU I just say yes. Nothing nefarious here among friends.

To stop the warnings, go to Options, General, Advanced. Unclick the box beside "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page."

Then the pages will load silently. You probably inadvertently clicked on it sometime.

I checked it to get the warning because there are many programs/sites out there that may automatically send you who knows where! You'd be amazed how many times I'm warned about redirection at commercial sites like Google, Ancestry.com, and many others. I just say no and go right on.
