2. There's a difference between encouraging sociopaths

and encouraging some of what might be termed "sociopathic" behavior, by which I assume you mean Ayn Rand behavior that stresses the individual's desires and lacks empathy for other people.

I think the answer is yes to both, though, in a lot of ways.
