(62,536 posts)...then she should do the responsible thing and come out for sex education. Simple as that. If you believe getting pregnant merits "disappointment" (it's not, it happens, even using proper contraceptives) then you should be for prevention, not shame politics.
Her self-shaming only underscores her own belief in disappointment in herself. There's nothing wrong with sex, there's nothing wrong with getting pregnant (though there are some downsides to poorer people who don't make hundreds of thousands a year shilling for abstinent programs, it's not something to be shamed over).
What's wrong is telling people the objectively wrong way to go about sexual relations (abstinence) and then shaming them for not being that way when you yourself are a hypocrite of the highest order.
Coming clean about the failure of abstinence programs is simply the only way Bristol Palin clears her image. Any other attempts should be mocked and ridiculed.
