13. I grew up gay in the south too.

I have seen more vitriol and unadulterated hate on DU toward the south than I ever experienced in the south for my sexual orientation.

I've come to understand that "far too many" DUers simply love an excuse to spew vile and vicious insults at people they don't even know.
