13. This computer person feels that it is what they say it is.

Like was mentioned up thread, there are thousands of computer "glitches" or "crashes" every day in the US. Probably in the 10's of thousands. They just don't make the news.

We had a major server go down today. It just so happens to be a critical financial system. One could state that it's related to the crashes/glitches at the airlines or the stock market. OMGZ! HAKERZ!

But it wasn't.

In all honesty, it was a simple security patch that caused an issue with a driver on the system, and it would no longer startup. So we rebuilt the system. Took about 6 hours.

No need to feel freaked out. They are simply machines. Machines do break down from time to time. Most IT departments extensive plans for the occasion.
