(30,884 posts)6. In most civilized places, the 15 year-old wouldn't be forced to see him
because he's old enough to have a say in visitation schedules. Instead, this judge sends him to a state youth facility (or as the judge refers to it, 'jail) because he won't comply with her order to develop "a healthy relationship" with his father. Sure, that's gonna work out.
Then the judge had the middle child agreeing to meet with his father and try, but after the youngest child refused the middle one changed his mind because he wanted to go with his brother.
Neither parent wanted their children in state care. After reading the hearing transcript ( "You're not your big, defiant brother who's living in jail. Do you want to live in jail?"
I hope that the judge is censured.

The transcripts show that the mom begged the kid to talk to his dad and the judge is NUTS!

That's a legitimate worry. Once in Israel, the mother would have little recourse
