53. Something that people don't realize about this area, is we get loads of

boats with people fishing at this time of year. Particularly with a salmon derby going on.
Therefore the coast guard is extra alert because some of those boats get in trouble. Some have communications on them, some don't. Most have flares of some sort to call for help if needed. Motors will quit, steering goes out, one only knows until it happens to them. Then the coast guard will tow them in so they need eyes on the lake as well as on the radar, even at night.
A friend of ours floated around all night one time cause he had no flares, no communication and no power.
