(2,681 posts)Being right is not always the best way to go. The cop was totally out of control, was a bully and was going to teach this "uppity black woman" a lesson and show her who's boss. Poor Sandra's mistake was confronting him while knowing well that she was in the right. You need to know when to ignore things and move on. Was a petty, nothing policeman in a hick town worth having an argument with? Wouldn't it have been better if she'd just agreed with him, got a warning and moved on with her life. She had more important things going on, what with moving to a new place and starting a new job. I am not excusing the cop's behavior and he should be fired and never allowed to be a policeman again. I am just saying that sometimes it is better to ignore bad things that make you use up negative energy and you need to learn not to get in these situations,
