37. Texas trooper Brian Encinia said Sandra Bland was arrested for Assault. He lied

on the police report he filed. Trooper Encinia did not disclose, on the police report he filed, the fact that he had placed her under arrest while she was in her car. And the video shows Trooper Encinia also lied verbally to his supervisor. I don't know why he hasn't been fired already.

ETA: Trooper Encinia probably lied because, if he had sworn out a warrant for resisting arrest he would have had to divulge the facts of what happened in her car. It would have then been clear to his superior that he ordered her out of the car without having any reasonable fear for his safety (an element lawyers say is necessary for police ordering someone out of their car per the decision of the Supreme Court).

Sandra Bland had an excellent false arrest case. She knew it, he knew it and she let him know she knew it. His career and reputation were in serious jeopardy. If evidence is ever found to support a murder charge, Encinia who had motive and likely opportunity, sure looks good for it.
