In reply to the discussion: Rick Perry: let us take our guns to the movies [View all]Paladin
(32,354 posts)16. Perry isn't advising anything I haven't seen here on DU, dozens of times.
Doing away with gun-free zones, enforcing the laws that are on the books, yadda, yadda, yadda. If it's an action that's going to increase the number of guns into as many hands as possible, with as little oversight as possible, the Republicans will be for it---as will our resident cadre of DU gun enthusiasts. They view their perceived rights as more important than the resultant violence and deaths inflicted on the public, they have no interest in discussions or compromise. And thus it shall be, for as far into the future as you care to speculate. One of these days it will be different, but I won't live to see it.

The TV Talking Head of the Free Press interrupted Perry with something like "Stop with the absurd NRA BS", am I right?

Somehow I think this would lead to more people getting shot at the movies, not less
