3. With gun lovers it is just like those guys who speed in cars constantly, because they are "just better drivers",

and no amount of statistics about speeding and accidents will make any difference to their self-delusion.

"A well regulated militia..." is the part that drives gun nuts and the NRA brethren to just lose it every time, so much so that they removed those words from the engraving of the second amendment carved into the facade of their national HQ.

I like to say that the NRA has set their lies in stone right at their front door.

"Today at the NRA’s headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia, oversized letters on the facade no longer refer to “marksmanship” and “safety.” Instead, the Second Amendment is emblazoned on a wall of the building’s lobby. Visitors might not notice that the text is incomplete. It reads:
“.. the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”
