I thought it was funny at the time and I still think it's a bit funny, primarily because it was never explained.

The story was ludicrous. The defenses of it were ridiculous. The parsing of "24 business hours" was easily one of the greatest exhibitions of desire informing invention that this board has ever seen.

As I noted upthread, the craziness and weird behavior behind "Fitzmas" was more a symptom of our inability to politically harm Rove than anything else. It seems almost quaint now.

In any case, if you live in public, you're going to publicly step in your own shit from time to time, and people are gonna remember it and goof on it. That's life. I don't know why the OP brought this up again, but it's part of the history of this site.
