166. Yes, I've been told that caring for other human beings is a 'pollyanna' thing, but never by

anyone from our side of the aisle. Of course it is as I already stated, to heartless, uncaring bullies. Who are weak and envious of those who are capable of human emotions they themselves are not and in many ways, they KNOW how they are lacking in normal human compassion so they lash out at those who are actually just normal human beings.

I feel sorry for them and wish there was a way to help them but I'm not a psychiatrist and this is just an internet forum. So I tend to stand up for those who become targets of those sad people.

MM denies your, correct assessment of his nasty thread btw, assumption that he was not sincere. He insists he was sincere. I personally requested that he include in his OP his real reasons for posting it so that good DUers would not be deceived. He denied that his intentions were not sincere.

I suppose it would have taken courage for a host of a forum to admit to his abuse of the forum, but then again, who knows, maybe he thought he was being so very clever, no one would notice. YOU, however are correct, it was not clever, people did notice and then he denied it.

And no, it was not satire, it was Meta and intended to mock, though it failed spectacularly, another DUer. All it did was to provide opportunities for people who had no idea what was going on, to show their support for a long time DUer in various other threads. Not good tactics to try to fool DUers, they are way too smart for that.

I will thank him though, because without his meta thread, I would have known nothing about what was going on, nor would the hundreds, perhaps thousands now, who are now aware of the nastiness.

Sometimes, depending on the motive, it is best not to 'stir the pot' as it doesn't always work out the way you intended, especially when you are known for that kind of thing.
