3. The problem with this El Nino is that it is not just a streak of hot ocean like in 1997.

It is the whole Pacific. So we don't have the storm conveyor belt created by the hot streak surrounded by cold water like in 1997. There is no cold water now. So, we don't have storms lining up to quench our drought-parched coast. It really is awful.
