Ed, who is a "self-avowed" former Republican very strongly and very obviously supported whatever he supported.
He supported were a strong public option, unions, esp. the unions against Walker, and Bernie Sanders.
However, while he urged and goaded while there was hope, my recollection is that, once the issue was acted on, he did not keep hammering. So, for example, after Obamacare passed without a strong public option, he got behind Obamacare as it passed. He did not keep harping on the public option. I haven't watched a lot of MSNBC, except maybe the overnight re-runs when I wake early enough.
