That's the difference. Starting in 2009, we had a Democratic President. I didn't have to be here to know that. That is the primary difference I'm talking about. We're not fighting a Republican President. We have a Democrat in that office. That changes the discussion on DU and everywhere else.
Now, we have an opportunity to continue having a Democrat as President. We also have an opportunity to give that President a Congress that will cooperate with him or her to make progress happen even more quickly.
I joined DU because of President Obama's election. I worked hard to help get him elected. Now, I don't want to lose that advantage. A new Democratic President and a Democratic majority in Congress and in our state legislatures is my goal. I believe it should be the goal of all Democrats. That's why I'm here.
