(1,644 posts)26. I agree with much of what you are saying,
particularly about the peril of dismissing him. He has always been a loud, silly showboater, but do not make the mistake of thinking him an "idiot". He is an extremely sharp and ruthless businessman, which means he possesses many of the required characteristics of a successful politician.
It is still early in this process. It looks to me like neither side has anyone on the horizon who appears to be their ideal candidate. Vast numbers of both Dems and Reps are dissatisfied with their choices so far. Should make for a very interesting and unpredictable race.
