(29,082 posts)I think when a man has a history of making crude, nasty comments directed toward women in the public eye, other women are not going to feel warm and fuzzy toward him. Calling breastfeeding "disgusting" will upset many women. You know that is so. Calling a woman a fat pig makes many other women feel targeted. If Hillary called Christie a "fat pig," do you think she would survive the backlash? I don't think she would be that insensitive and lacking in social graces at any rate. Certainly, no one would be praising her "honesty." I seriously doubt she would make a comment about Trump's hair either.
Now, some candidates make the negative comments in ugly ways under their breath thinking they are clever. When Rand Paul accused Christie of hugging Obama after the hurricane, I could read between the lines at what he was saying. He's a racist. He said it twice. That Christie could get hugs from Obama. Because we all know what that means. Racist prick. Now, I just called him a prick. I am not running for public office though.
