I'm working to save my third "family pride" where the young cats were obviously pets at some point, but tossed outside to fend for themselves. I don't understand how you can love and care for animals and then throw them out or take them to the pound to be killed. And the pregnancies are so hard on some of the young mother animals.

I'm so used to Emancipet and Animal Trustees in my area of Texas, which offer low cost or free vaccinations and spay/neuter that it surprises me when I find a large city without those services. I was going to Dallas to pick up some young tom cats, and I really wanted to get them fixed before I drove them home, but even the low-cost places were twice as expensive as my options back home.

My reaction to seeing a man mistreat or insult his mother, his ex, or any woman is that someday he'll do that to me. I guess Republican women don't think like that, an "I got mine" mentality, perhaps.
