3. They are trying to get it decriminalized in Thailand.

It's an attempt to get the sex workers legalized so they can be protected by the law if they are beaten by a client or their pimp and any other number of crimes committed against sex workers so that they are not afraid to report such crimes to the police. It's not a perfect solution but since sex workers of both sexes aren't going to stop earning their living this way tomorrow at least they might have some protection under the law if they can come out of the shadows.
