We really can't understand - fairly - stuff like where ISIS comes from or why Israeli is big on defensive/aggressive posturing, without understanding the widespread attitudes that they are derived from (iSIS) or reacting against (Israeli government)..
And: if I were to just say "Lots of People in Region Y think X", everyone would (rightly) demand to see my evidence.
So i would say there's a balance to be struck between censorship of wacky stuff for the reasons you give, and exposure of wacky stuff because it's existence informs our understanding of current issues.
I posted this article because it was *extremely* wacky, and yet published in a mainstream daily - in fact, in the segment that specifically gives its aim as "bringing mainstream Arab opinions to an international audience.".
So that made it (to me) both fair game for exposure, and important for people to see.
But, your point is taken. Thx.
