(23,955 posts)I know it is a really tough thing for many people for a variety of reasons, but I do believe it would be wise to allow those who haven't had a seat at the table, so to speak, to be heard first. I believe the AA community as a whole are long overdue to be heard about the entirety of their experiences and grievances and fears. I choose to cede my seat at the table so they speak their piece.
I believe that about all groups of people who feel invisible and/or oppressed and marginalized within our systems.
So, yeah, after we truly listen, I'm all about dialogue. Back and forth with the continued intention to keep listening, not just try to sway anyone else to our point of view. Share our stories -- all of our stories have value, regardless of the color of our skin. We all learn from one another.
