10. Thanks, but remember to always go to the source

I know that most everyone here on DU are people dedicated to having intelligent discourse. There are are still a couple of things to remember.

First, the easiest is that people who disagree with us post here and try to stir up controversy or propagate falsehoods.

Second, sometimes in our haste to get a topic up on the forums we make mistakes. We misquote or paraphrase in a way that might not really reflect what the original source meant. This is not a knock on anyone. I've done it myself and rightfully been called out on it.

So my best advice is to read the commentary but make sure you read the source material before you believe or post.

Remember this is a commentary site, not a news organization.
