Both trump and sanders claim Populism as explanation for their success.
Problem is, only one of them is correct.

The Cons in this country envy us dirty liberals. When WE protest, we mean it and in so doing, alter the national dialouge. When they try it, 20 idiots show up. So they fake it with astroturf, and call it a mass movement.

When we make the case that systemic legal oppression really does exist in America for certain people, (the LGBT community) we say it because IT'S TRUE. When they make the same argument, Pat Robertson knows full well its not because Christians are ACTUALLY being persecuted, it's because he saw the EFFECT of the argument we made on Public Opinion. Here's the rub tho...IT ONLY WORKED BECAUSE IT WAS TRUE.
It won't ever work for them because while the structure of the argument may be the same, the underlying facts of what they're trying to argue FOR, are just completely bullshit.
