Is Trump an "anchor baby"? Was borne by a Scottish immigrant mother. Whole family were immigrants. [View all]

"Trump was born on June 14, 1946, in the borough of Queens in New York City. He is the fourth of five children born to Mary Anne (née MacLeod) and Fred Trump, who had married in 1936. His sister, Maryanne Trump Barry, is a former Senior United States Circuit Judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals.[20]

Trump's mother was a Scottish immigrant, born on the Isle of Lewis, off the west coast of Scotland.[21] Trump's paternal grandparents were German immigrants;[22] Trump's grandfather, Friedrich DRUMPF, was a successful Klondike Gold Rush restaurateur who anglicized the family name.[23]

After World War II and until the 1980s, Trump's father claimed the family was of Swedish rather than German origin, because "he had a lot of Jewish tenants and it wasn't a good thing to be German in those days", a nephew told The New York Times.[24] In his 1987 book, The Art of the Deal, Donald Trump continued to claim Swedish heritage.[25][26]
