it might be that Trump's mother came legally to the US. So would the children of legally present aliens be citizens if born in the US? Trump and his followers might allow for that.

But where they are really being idiots is that if you think it through, eventually the country would have fewer citizens than it did noncitizens. It's shooting ourselves in the foot for no reason other than plain old hatred.
