In reply to the discussion: Mass shootings since Sandy Hook, in one map [View all]zalinda
(5,621 posts)but the plain truth is that there is a lot of rage out there. People lose their jobs, homes, family and have no hope left any more, and something breaks inside of them. People in this country have been stressed to the max, and sometimes it is one more little thing that pushes them over the edge.
Yes, guns are easy to use, but then so are vehicles or whatever you can think up that can cause the most damage. Why do people riot? These mass shootings are a symptom of our society. I understand that Canada has more guns per 1000 people than we do here in the US, but you seldom hear of mass shootings there. Their society is much more laid back than ours.
If and when our society starts to equalize, the mass shootings will diminish, along with murder/suicides, and suicides. Violence always breaks out when man or animals have to contend with survival stress for a long time.
