I'm hoping that Wyden's holding off on an announcement so that the knuckleheads running all those ads for moar war keep spending their money fruitlessly.

The latest ad by some ad hoc corporation features some guy who says his father died in the barracks bombing in Lebanon talking about how Iran can't be trusted, so we apparently shouldn't conduct any negotiations with Iran. I'd like to ask him what his alternative is: Blow every Iranian everywhere to smithereens? How does Iran's record of trustworthiness compare, in his opinion, to the trustworthiness of the United States? And would the trustworthiness of the United States be enhanced or diminished if we unilaterally junked a deal that we painstakingly negotiated with six other countries?
