(106,339 posts)40. It is 'back in the news' because news media are too lazy to check what they read on the internet
and too eager to post things without attribution, to make it look as though they have a skill at finding news, rather than monitoring what people are tweeting.
The Independent has now updated the story to say it was in 2003, and linked to the Weather Channel, rather than AOL (AOL? LOL!). But they dare not point out they got it wrong at first, because that would alert their readers to their fraudulent claim to be reporting news.
I used to read that rag.
