1933. So, perhaps the author of that sign could have said sixty-six million Germans instead of the six million. That said, this thread had some really good discussion about parallels between America in the last decade and Germany in the 1920s. There were some chilling references to how the great swollen propaganda organ Fox 'news' ejaculates deliberate lies to generate fear, militant nationalism and racism. Which is true.

One poster makes the point that after these things are in place comes the reactionary, totalitarian rule. Following this is nacht and nebel. They come in the dark of the night and the next day no one knows where the victim went. Trucks with closed canvas tops...long trains with cattle cars...camps.

Most of the people on this thread see it happening now and are trying very hard to oppose any further drift toward right wing extremism.

I do not think the original poster meant to blame the victims.
