In particular, it was a dull and wet August for us: the average daily maximum was 20.9C, (71F) which is 0.9C below the 1981-2010 average, and rainfall was 198% of the average. We averaged under 5 hours of sunshine a day (so that's about twice as much cloudy as clear sky). http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/climate/uk/summaries/2015/august/regional-values . It could be worse - northern Scotland had an average max of 16.0C (61F), which is 0.2C above the average.
