As I type this, I'm watching a crowd of them dining at the 10 large feeders we have up. This year - since April - we've gone thru 400 lbs. of sugar. I make 8 quarts of "nectar" about every day and a half during the long, thirsty summer. The rush is just now starting to fade as many of the birds are heading south for the winter months. There's nothing like a swirling, 80+ cloud of bickering, squeaky hummers when things get really intense here!
