Can you believe that one of our uncles - who wrote the obituary - wouldn't put his name on the obituary, because this uncle is a hotshot attorney who doesn't want to be associated with the less affluent members of the family? Consequently, no one was listed as survivors outside the immediate family, so he wouldn't look like an ass leaving himself out of it. But this uncle's kids will inherit everything my cousin owned, which is no small amount.

He did let them claim as survivors my cousin's 2 well-off brothers and his mother, who treated him like crap and couldn't care less that he's gone. But none of us who spoke to him regularly and truly loved him were even listed. Pretty disgusting.

Sometimes I can't stand my family. Lots of heartless, thoughtless people I am glad to no longer associate with.
