(2,638 posts)I was really concerned about what happened to Bravenak. So I decided to see if it was easy to find out someone's address armed with only an online nickname. I googled the nick, found she has a website - 1st click. Once there I could view complete profile - 2nd click. At this page I could click on a link to her presence on another website - 3rd click
Now I hit pay dirt since this gave me a real name and a real location. With a simple search name in white pages and you get the address, phone number and map to the residence.
This is important because any of us are vulnerable. Make sure your FB is private and remove your location. If you have talent which is available on the net, make sure your online nickname for discussion boards is totally unrelated.
This is very scary because we can never be sure who else is online and we can't assume that everyone is balanced and sane. Not in today's world.
Try and find yourself and if you do it may be time to change your identity or remove any links to it.
Big hugs to Bravenak!
