5. I have no idea why the cop beat up this guy.

I do know that on a traffic stop NEVER get out of your car unless told to do so by the cop. Sit there with your hands on the steering wheel and wait for the cop to ask questions and tell you what to do, such as getting out license and registration and proof of insurance.
