12. I agree that there are cops out there who should not be cops.

Approaching a car in a traffic stop is a situation in which cops are cautious. That is why there are laws limiting window tint. Every cop I know want drivers and passengers to stay in the vehicle until told otherwise. That is SOP. (I have four relatives who are cops or retired LEO.)

Staying inside the vehicle also is more safe for the driver when on the side of a road or highway. Again, don't do anything until told to do so by the cop and keep your hands on the wheel.
