20. 'She said, “I’m good at my job.”'

No. No, you're not. That's the big problem here. You're refusing to do your job, and you're interfering with other people doing their job. You are actively bad at your job.

“My constituents elected me. But the main authority that rules my life is the Lord,” she said.

As for why she would remain in her position despite the challenges, she said, “I’m good at my job.”

If you watch the interview, you see someone who has not got a clue about the separation of church and state, about the secular rights of someone with a slightly (or very) different religious view than her, or about how a person should function in a governmental position. She is pathetic. I feel slightly sorry for her - she's in no way capable of being a county clerk. She should only hold a very junior position where there's someone to tell her exactly what to do. Sadly, she fell into the clutches of religious bigots, and they are now telling her what to do, for their own publicity purposes.

If there were anyone who loved her and who had decent morals of their own, they'd sit her down, and explain how she's being used by unscrupulous politicians, lawyers and pastors who are out for money and power. But she has no-one like that. Her lawyer, sat on her left throughout the interview, is a prime example of the manipulator. I'd love to see an unedited version to see what he said.
