It teaches him that he better act the way the the larger and more violent want him to, until such time as he can become the larger more violent one.

Adults harming small children is what has created the sick world we live in. It's far past time that we change how we deal with problematic behavior in small children. It takes consistency, patience, compassion and a dedication to the welfare of children. Unfortunately, there are so many wounded adults walking around, the idea that it's ok to physically harm a human who weighs 100 pounds less than you if they act in a way you don't like, is prevalent.
