No taxes = no government
Donald Trump would like to pay no taxes at all. That may sound good to a lot of people? He says his plan will not increase the deficit or the debt because more money will come into the Treasury because of the h-u-u-ge growth that will take place. It will be beautiful. Have we heard this before?
It is my opinion that Obama's decision to keep in place 95% of the Bush taxcuts is a major reason we have Republicans in the majority in the House and Senate.
Republicans always support tax cuts because that translates into smaller government. For the last 80 years, this has been the basic difference in the two Parties. If you want the best roads and bridges and infrastructure and schools, we have to pay for them. Or we can choose to keep more of our individual wealth and disregard the needs of our country.
The strategy of Republicans is to shrink government by shrinking taxes. Without taxes, there can be no government programs. People will have to decide what they want and if they are willing to pay for it?
