(2,253 posts)It was the prosecution's job to show the jury that Zimmerman's story was practically impossible. They didn't do that. In fact, it was actually the prosecution that presented Zimmerman's story to the jury in the first place. Zimmerman never even had to testify. Zimmerman never had to speak a word in his defense at the trial because the prosecutor presented a video of him getting to tell his story....where there was no cross examination whatsoever. Zimmerman was essentially allowed to tell his side, (at least a day or two later. not sure when the video was made), exactly the way he wanted to tell it, and not get questioned about it. I think that would have made sense if the prosecutor was about to rip his story to shreds....but they didn't do that. That's what the jury saw.
