(19,537 posts)They interviewed a vet on local news here who said he was armed on the other side of the campus. Had he been closer to the shooting, it sounds like he might have tried to intervene, but at least he was wise not to try and insert himself in to the mix and make it a worse situation than it already was with SWAT shooting at him and others if he came there with his gun.
Makes you wonder if he had a gun, how perhaps the gunman might have also been "blessed" in carrying a gun (or guns) on campus as well. Perhaps why they are avoid talking very much now too, if there is evidence that authorities might have known he was armed, and that allowing him to carry a gun might have been the pivotal event that lead to this massacre that might not have happened if perhaps there was a real "gun safe zone" enforced there.
